Our Speech Therapy Fees

This may be appropriate if you have concerns about; unclear or difficult-to-understand speech or difficulty producing particular speech sounds.
The assessment fee includes:
Initial online parent/carer consultation
In-person speech assessment
Analysis and interpretation of assessment findings
Feedback and discussion of results
Written summary with recommendations and suggested next steps

A language and communication assessment provides a comprehensive picture of your child’s understanding and use of language and their communication skills.
This may be appropriate if you have concerns about; late talking or delayed language development, understanding language or following instructions, sentence formation and grammar, social communication or broader language and communication difficulties.
The assessment fee includes:
Initial online parent/carer consultation
Comprehensive in-person language and communication assessment
Appropriate formal and informal assessment measures
Analysis and interpretation of assessment findings
Feedback and discussion of results
Written summary with recommendations and suggested next steps
Where appropriate, an assessment may be completed over more than one appointment. This will be discussed with you in advance.

A 60-minute session allows additional time for direct therapy, clinical discussion and, where appropriate, strategies and activities to support your child’s progress at home.
Therapy sessions are planned around your child’s individual goals and needs, and progress is reviewed regularly.

A 45-minute session may be appropriate for younger children or for children who benefit from shorter, more focused sessions.

Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
More than 48 hours’ notice: No charge.
Less than 48 hours’ notice: 50% of the appointment fee will be charged.
Failure to attend or less than 12 hrs notice: The full appointment fee will be charged.
For assessment appointments the cancellation fee based is on the scheduled assessment fee.
I appreciate that children can become unexpectedly unwell. Where your child is unwell, please contact me as soon as possible. The cancellation policy will still apply, but I will consider exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
Cancellation fees must be paid before a further appointment can be arranged

Detailed Clinical Report — €150
A detailed written report can be provided where required for school, educational placement, multidisciplinary assessment or other professional purposes.
Supporting Letter — €50
A brief supporting letter can be provided where appropriate and where a formal clinical report is not required.
School visit
As part of the assessment or therapy process, it may sometimes be helpful to visit your child in their preschool or school setting. This can provide valuable information about how your child communicates in their everyday environment and allows for liaison with their educational team.
Where a preschool or school visit is recommended, this will always be discussed and agreed with you in advance.
Fees for preschool and school visits are based on the time involved and travel required and will be discussed with you in advance.

Tax Refunds for Speech and Language Therapy
Speech and Language Therapy fees are tax deductible. To avail of this, you will need to get a MED1 form from the tax office, and keep all receipts. The tax office also requires a medical letter of referral from a GP or Consultant.
Health Insurance
A number of Health Insurance Plans provide cover for Speech and Language Therapy. Please check with your own Health Insurer for details. You can combine your Health Insurance and tax refund by claiming tax relief on monies paid in excess of that covered by your Health Insurer.
