Speech Therapy for Children in Sligo
We ensure to keep small caseloads so we can offer the time and space needed to support each family along their journey.
Whether you are worried about your child who is not yet talking, having a diagnosis of a speech or language difficulty that needs support or the long waiting lists, we can support you.
We will be there with you and your child through the assessment and therapy pathway, working with schools and any other relevant health professionals where needed.
The speech therapy service will be provided based on goals identified following an assessment and will be agreed on by the therapist and parents/carers.
Therapy sessions can only be booked following an assessment.
Once your child has been assessed, therapy sessions will be booked in directly with your speech therapist at a time that suits you.
Sessions are between 45-60 minutes
In most cases parent/carers are involved in therapy sessions and will remain in the clinic room with their child.
Strategies for home practice will be discussed and demonstrated and regular and consistent practice is encouraged at home
Therapy is completed in a fun child-centred way and is adapted to each child’s particular needs and preferences. It may take your child a little time to settle in but our difficulty is usually that children do not want to leave.
